  • Most famous for Dragon Ball Z 
2000 AD:
  • British comic publisher founded in 1977
  • Producing weekly comics 
  • Started as traditional but now also available in digital apps 
  • Most famous comic Judge Dredd
Fleetway Press:
  • British comic publisher founded in 1922
  • Formed when daily mirror bought a press company 
  • Published weekly and enjoyed by teen and kids 
  • Traditional print 
  • Big picture weekly and valiant
Image Comics:
  • American book publisher founded in 1992
  • Left marvel wanted to create own characters
  • Supporting creator-owned comics 
  • Traditional and now digital 
  • Famous for spawn and walking dead 
Dark Horse:
  • American comic book publisher founded in 1986
  • Creator-owned comics and licensed series 
  • Biggest independent publishers outside marvel and dc take up
  • Traditional now digital 
  • Hellboy and Sin City

Independent Publishers - almost all are creator owned and some of the topics may contain mature content such as fantagraphics, kitchen sink press and top shelf 

Self publishers - run by people who makes the comic books, handle most of the duties making comics, writing comics and the art, publishing and press. Quality can vary drastically and fan base is usually local. Due to internet self publishers have been able to market their comics to many others. Some have even found some success with self publishing such as American splendour (now with DC)
